Half Time Food 圓緣園 (formerly Half-Time Tea Bar) is a beloved local spot known for serving authentic Taiwanese-style breakfast. The kiosk brings classic morning street-food culture to Brisbane, offering favourites such as soy milk, rice rolls, youtiao, congee, and traditional snacks.
Two distinct visual directions were explored to reflect the brand’s Taiwanese heritage and contemporary food culture influences. 'Vintage hipster' embraced a bold, retro-inspired aesthetic with hand-drawn illustrations and a distressed typography treatment.
'Traditional Hand-Stamped Identity' - drew inspiration from traditional seal stamps and handwritten street-food signage. Featuring brush-stroke Chinese characters, red ink textures, and symbolic motifs from authentic Taiwanese cuisine, this direction embodied cultural authenticity and humble everyday food rituals. The client selected this direction for its strong cultural resonance and genuine connection to Taiwanese street-food culture.
